Sun Tower

The Sun Tower in Seoul, Korea was one of the most famous buildings Thom Mayne has built. When building this structure Mayne's ground site was very constricted because the site had two owners and each owner wanted his own building. This caused a very big problem.

So when building this he became interested in the narrowness and compression of the buildings. Studying that, two elements were articulated and an entry space was created. He studied the space very closely and wanted to put a modern theme to the building. So he placed a ton of differnet glass shapes to the sides and top of the building to make it have a modern theme.
